Hi!
Zhang is a Ph.D. student in Computer Science (AI) at the University of Ottawa, conducting research at VIVA Lab with a focus on Autonomous Driving, 3D detection, and Large Language Models (LLMs).
He is particularly interested in efficient 3D scene completion and large vision-language models that enable AI to better understand the real world :)
In 2024, he worked as an AI Scientist at GFI Software in Texas. Prior to joining uOttawa, he was a Data Scientist Intern at Flipboard Greater China (Beijing). In 2023, he also served as a Senior Visiting Scholar in the Department of GSC at the United Nations, Italy.
He completed his M.A.Sc. at the University of Ottawa in 2023, and holds a B.Sc. in Computer Science from Nanjing University (2017).
Zhang has a deep appreciation for orchestral symphonies and classical music. He enjoys outdoor activities such as off-roading, hiking, and is currently learning cross-country skiing. He is passionate about promoting equal education access in underdeveloped areas of Jiaodong. He is a canadian trained driver and certified pilot. A loyal client of HSBC and AMEX (RBC sucks, eh).
